Hi, I’m Steve, and my journey has been anything but typical. But it ended up at NASA, where I set my sights on the stars while working at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. For years, I thrived in an environment that demanded precision and analytical prowess. My role there was deeply fulfilling, pushing me to think beyond limits every single day.
However, life has a way of sending us on new adventures. After retiring from NASA, I faced a pivotal moment. It was time to focus inward and pay closer attention to my health. For someone who always looked out into the vastness of space, turning my gaze inward was both challenging and necessary.
This shift wasn’t just about changing careers from engineering to healthcare advocacy; it was a profound personal transition. As I dove into the world of health and wellness, particularly focusing on senior health, I realized how crucial it is to maintain both mind and body as we age. It became clear that my experiences from NASA could offer a unique perspective in my new mission.
And so, the Senior Medical Alert Devices brand was born. It’s not only about keeping seniors safe—though that’s a huge part of it—but also about learning and sharing the wisdom I’ve acquired along the way. If I can help others navigate the complexities of aging safely and gracefully, then I’m on the right path.
My journey from the fast-paced, high-stakes world at NASA to becoming a health advocate is a testament to the power of reinvention. It’s taught me to leverage my analytical skills and use them for a new purpose: enhancing the quality of life for seniors, including my own. This naturally flows into my passion project: creating innovative solutions through Senior Medical Alert Devices.
Why Senior Medical Alert Devices?
So, what led me to build the Senior Medical Alert Devices brand?
I recently had an experience where a good friend of mine, elderly but still self sufficient, been taking care of himself his whole life. But he fell. No big deal… usually, but this time it was outside, luckily on his front porch, enclosed, safe from the weather. This was a little late in the day, sun going down, nobody around. He ended up laying there ALL NIGHT. Dehydrated and very sore the next day, finally someone walked by and saw his dilemma and helped him before something more serious happened. 8 hours on his porch…disabled.
Well, after my career at NASA, I wanted to create something that would truly make a difference, and help people like him. I recognized the crucial need for seniors to maintain their independence and protect their safety. This drove me to focus on medical alert devices that could support these goals.
Inspired by my own journey of health discovery, I wanted to share what I’ve learned with others. I knew firsthand the value of reliable data and precise solutions—skills I sharpened in the space sector and now apply to senior wellness. My goal is to provide seniors and their families peace of mind through cutting-edge technology and thoughtful design.
Medical alert devices aren’t just gadgets; they’re life-enhancing tools. With each device and service crafted, I aim to improve lives by adding a layer of security and empowerment for seniors. These devices mean that help is always just a button press away, which can be incredibly reassuring.
This adventure into health technology has also been personal. It’s about embracing technology that supports healthier living for myself and my peers, which is why I’m so passionate about this work. Developing these devices is a natural extension of my commitment to health advocacy, gathering insights from my experiences and research.
As I reflect on my path from NASA to health innovation, it’s clear that while the journey is very different, the core values remain the same—precision, dedication, and a desire to improve quality of life. Through Senior Medical Alert Devices, I strive to light the way for others traveling this path, offering them the tools and information needed to thrive safely and confidently in their golden years.
